City of Rockford Hazardous Waste Site Directions

To navigate the facility, please enter on the Kishwaukee Street side only. Residents with household wastes shall follow the traffic cones to the left upon entering where a staff member will unload waste from vehicles. Residents with tires only may stay to the right upon entering and drive directly to the used tire shipping container. Residents are required to unload tires into the shipping container themselves. Upon unloading household waste and tires, residents must exit the facility onto Martin Road to return to Kishwaukee Street.

Latex Paint is not hazardous and can safely be dried or absorbed and thrown in the trash.  Latex Paint will be able to be recycled into new paint in 2025 at no charge. These sites will also accept oil based and other paints.
