Members of Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful’s Board of Directors connect with like-minded community and business achievers and join a positive force for environmental stewardship.

- Interview with the Executive Director and Nomination Chair.
- Final approval by the Board.

Board Member Responsibility
- Inform others about KNIB’s efforts and successes
- Participate in operating budget development and fund-raising efforts
- Attend at least 75% of the monthly Board of Directors' and committee meetings in addition to the annual training/planning retreat when presented.
- Give one to three hours of time per month to attend board and/or committee meetings. (4:30 PM; first Wednesday of each month)
- Give three to six hours of time per year participating in programs and/or fundraising events
- . Provide individual and corporate financial operating support or program sponsorship.
- Encourage friends and associates to become donors.
- Assist the Executive Director to:
– Establish realistic goals
– Resolve issues
– Coordinate programs with other community organizations
– Cultivate individuals to serve on the Board of Directors
