Latex Paint
Illinois Paint Recyclng
www.paintcare.org/states/illinois/
Dry latex paint can be safely discarded in the
trash. Allow the paint to dry out completely;
use kitty litter or similar absorbents as needed.
If there is no hurry, hang on to that paint a little
longer: a new Illinois law was signed in July of 2023
to begin a state-wide no-fee latex paint recycling
program that should be operational by early 2025.
Paint will be dropped off at local retail stores for
collection, then processed for recycling and reuse.
