Serves Illinois residents only; does not accept items from businesses.
Location: 3333 Kishwaukee St, Rockford, IL 61109
North of the Rock River Water Reclamation District office.
Hours: Saturdays 8 am – 4 pm
Sundays: Noon – 4 pm
Closed when a major holiday falls on the weekend,

Items Accepted at Hazardous Waste Site:
- No commercial waste accepted
- The following items accepted from Illinois residents only.
- Illinois EPA list of acceptable wastes is used as the primary guide by site staff on duty.
Large quantities may not be accepted or deferred when unloading would disrupt traffic flow.
Automotive fluids (brake, transmission fluids)
Batteries (household & automotive)
Florescent Tubes & Ballasts
Gasoline – in properly marked containers
Insulin disposal (no needles or sharps)
Ni-Cad Batteries (Nickle-Cadmium, rechargable)
Paint (oil-based only, no Latex paint)
Paint Strippers/Paint Thinner
Tires (auto only – maximum 4 per vehicle per day)
Varnish, Wood Stain, similar products
