Fertilizers come in several different configurations.  Some contain pesticides while others do not.

Dry, granular fertilizer that does not contain pesticides or herbicides may be placed in the garbage.

 Fertilizers containing pesticides, herbicides or other chemicals should be taken to the Household Hazardous Waste Site.
